A substantial renovation, reconstruction and extension of a semi- detached villa property in the Acton Park Conservation Area

The design maintains the character of the original building whilst sensitively introducing a more contemporary aesthetic to the rear. A new front porch was constructed to the front of the property whilst the internal layout amended such that the GF to FF and FF to SF staircase are stacked creating a beautiful, sinuous staircase which better connects the multiple levels of accommodation within the property.

At the rear, the open plan Kitchen, Living and Dining area is more contemporary in its detailing and decoration utilising a cantilevered steel beam to create a corner less bi-folding opening to the raised terrace. The property benefits from numerous instances of alignment with new double doors presenting symmetrical views of the fireplace to the Living Room upon entrance and the Kitchen, Living and Dining Room being articulated such that views fo the garden are available from the Entrance Hallway. At SF the ceilings are vaulted and natural daylighting within the Entrance Hallway is enhanced via front and side windows supplemented by 2No roof windows which allow light to pour through the gap between stair flights creating a bright, open and sculptural feature in the heart of the home.
